Direct share to Instagram skips your Social_Ready folder. Save to Photos, strip, then pick from IG_Ready.
iCloud Photos often stores the Facetune save and an optimized/HEIC sibling. The Instagram picker can surface the iCloud derivative. After strip, keep a local IG_Ready album that is not the default Recents view.
In-app Share to Stories still attaches Facetune’s encode. There is no “Instagram will strip it” step in that sheet. Save → checker → strip → Stories from the cleaned file.
Facetune Relight , Fix lighting , or a second Save after you already stripped v1 is a new file. iOS Recents will show both. Name Client_facetune_v2.jpg vs Social_Ready so the picker does not grab the uncleaned sibling.
Brand deals and “AI content” clauses

Workflow
- Finish Facetune. Save once.
- Do not hop through messengers.
- Inspect the Facetune JPG in the AI metadata checker .
- Strip C2PA and XMP .
- Instagram from Social_Ready. Do not reopen Facetune “for one more tooth” on the cleaned file.
- Carousel: every Facetune slide. Mixing one retouched hero with camera details still flags the set if the hero is dirty.

Is Facetune the same as Meitu for metadata?
Same class of beauty app, different vendor tags. Meitu has its own article. This page is only Facetune’s save/export before Instagram.
Does skin smoothing mean the photo is AI-generated?
No. Instagram AI Info on this path is usually file tags (XMP/C2PA) from the export, not a verdict on whether you are a real person.
I cleaned before Facetune. Do I clean again?
Yes. Facetune save is a new file and can write software/XMP. Strip the export you will attach.
Facetune video or Reels?
This page is stills. For a Facetune still used as Reels cover, clean that still. MP4 is a different path. Remove AI Label Team
