What this tool does and doesn't do

Remove AI Label is a metadata removal tool. It strips EXIF, XMP, IPTC, and C2PA data from image files. Processing happens entirely in your browser - your images are never uploaded to our servers.

What we can do

What we cannot do

No guarantee of effectiveness

Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok, and other platforms continuously update their detection systems. Removing metadata is effective against metadata-based detection. It may not be effective against AI image classifiers that analyze visual patterns, pixel-level watermarks, or future detection methods. We make no guarantee that using this tool will prevent AI labels from appearing on any specific platform.

Legitimate uses

Common lawful uses include stripping GPS and device fields before sharing photos publicly; correcting false-positive "Made with AI" labels when only minor AI-assisted edits triggered metadata markers; and preparing exports you own for upload workflows on social media or marketplaces. These are file-level metadata edits on images you own or have rights to - not changes to image pixels.

Advanced features (Pro)

Pro subscribers can inject placeholder camera EXIF fields for workflow testing on files they own - for example, restoring a neutral camera profile after stripping AI markers. This is not for misrepresenting image origin or bypassing platform authenticity requirements.

Legal responsibility

Metadata belongs to the creator of a file. Removing or modifying metadata from files you own is legal in most jurisdictions. However, the following uses may be illegal or violate platform terms of service:

By using this tool, you agree that:

Platform terms of service

Publishing processed images in ways that violate a platform's AI disclosure or authenticity requirements may violate that platform's terms of service. Consequences may include content removal, account suspension, or permanent bans. Review the terms of service of any platform you upload to. We are not responsible for enforcement actions taken by any platform against your account.

EU AI Act notice

The EU AI Act (Regulation 2024/1689) requires disclosure of AI-generated content in certain contexts, including: content that could be mistaken for real people or events; deep synthesis content (deepfakes); certain AI-generated text and images in regulated sectors. If you are subject to EU AI Act requirements, removing AI labels to avoid required disclosures may constitute a violation of EU law. Consult a legal professional if you are uncertain.
