What “AI-only” means here

Many creators want the opposite of a full metadata wipe: delete C2PA Content Credentials , XMP AI fields , and generator PNG chunks that trigger “AI Info” - but keep camera EXIF (Make, Model, lens, exposure, GPS) for cataloging or client delivery.

This page runs the shared remover in AI-only preset : canvas re-encode removes embedded AI provenance, then sanitized original EXIF is written back on JPEG . For a full strip including GPS, use the EXIF cleaner or AI metadata remover .

When to use AI-only vs full remover

AI-only (this page) - Wedding or product JPG with a small Generative Fill; you still want camera Make/Model in the file
Full remover - Generator export (Midjourney, DALL·E) where no real camera EXIF matters
EXIF cleaner - Privacy: strip GPS and device identity before public post
C2PA remover - Story leads with Content Credentials; same engine, different positioning

What gets removed vs kept

FAQ

Does AI-only mode keep GPS?

On JPEG, yes - when GPS was in the original EXIF, we re-insert it after removing AI tags. To remove location data, use the EXIF cleaner instead.

Is this lossless like a C2PA-only strip?

No. This preset uses canvas re-encode (same as our main remover) plus EXIF write-back. It is not byte-level APP11 removal. Pixels are visually unchanged at JPEG quality 0.95; file size and hash change.

AI-only vs full AI metadata remover?

Full remover strips everything readable in one pass - best for pure AI exports. AI-only targets uploads where camera EXIF should survive but C2PA/XMP must go.

Will Instagram stop showing AI Info?

Often, when the label came from file metadata. We do not guarantee platform behavior or remove invisible watermarks.
